ORTHOPLASTIC SURGERY :
Orthoplastic surgery is a multidisciplinary approach that uses a combination of orthopedic and plastic surgery principles for treating musculoskeletal problems. An example of this is limb salvage where both soft tissue and bone are involved. Here are some examples for which Orthoplastic Surgery may be needed:
• failed joint replacements due to the lack of soft tissue
• peripheral nerve issues in orthopedic trauma patients
• vascularized bone transfers for fractures that don’t heal
• soft tissue reconstruction in patients with trauma or cancer
• lack of soft tissues or wound healing problems in complex spine patients
• nerve and neuroma management for patients that have had limb amputations
• limb salvage and preservation in patients with diabetes or neuropathy.
Traumatic Injuries of the Hand :
• Amputations of the fingers and hand
• Flexor and extensor tendon injuries
• Fractures and dislocations of the hand and wrist
• Microsurgical replantation and revascularization
• Peripheral nerve injuries of the upper extremity
• Pathologic Conditions
• Chronic wrist pain
• Congenital deformities of the hand in children
• Nerve compression syndromes such as carpal tunnel syndromes
• Rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis of the hand
• Tumors of the hand
• Peripheral Nerve Injuries and Brachial Plexus
• Arthritis of the Hand
• Children’s Congenital Hand Anomalies
• Trigger Finger
• Ganglion
• Dupuytren’s Surgery and Injection
• Thumb Arthritis
• Fracture
